Interview with Phillip Jackson from The Black Star Project discusses the violence in Chicago
Yesterday Afternoon I caught up with The Black Star Project’s Founder/Executive Director Phillip Jackson about the insane crime rate here in Chicago. Mr. Jackson was quoted in the Sun-Times last week about the City needing to do more than just roll back the curfew on 12 year old’s and adding more police presence. We dig deeper in the problem by discussing the educational system, lack of parental guidance, and lack of funding by the government to develop more programs that are beneficial to communities. Is the violence stemming from economical short fall? Lack of jobs? What do you think? Take a listen and leave a comment below as they are welcomed and encouraged to at least raise awareness about this sensitive issue.
