Ruff Ryders: Past, Present, Future Album Review

The Ruff Ryders have had considerable problems the last decade trying to find new talent to replace aging talent. How do you move on from DMX, Eve, Swizz Beatz and The Lox? Jerry Krause had that some issue after the Chicago Bulls dynasty wrapped up their sixth title in 98′, how do you replace Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman? It took many a years for the Bulls to find their way again, but with a new revamped roster that resembled nothing of its past. The Double R unfortunately are still relying on the artists of yesterday to carry their torch instead finding a new crop of street, and grimy rappers to take over the reigns. Mook (formerly known as Murder Mook) has been anointed as the future of the Ruff Ryders label, he and several new faces are expected to lead the once popular movement out from the shadows of DMX, Eve and The Lox and in to the new age of hip hop. Is this latest compilation by the Double R the best move for the future of the Ruff Ryders? Listen to my review below.
